Lawrence Thompson
M.S.W., L.C.S.W.

Lawrence Thompson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with many years experience treating a variety of emotional/mental problems. After graduation from the University of Oklahoma where he majored in psychology and social work, in 1985 he was granted his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the university.

He interned at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City in the Drug Treatment Unit and at Sunbeam Family Services in Oklahoma City. After completing his internships, he worked for 5 years at Atascadero State Hospital in California, the nation’s largest forensic mental hospital. He was in private practice in California, specializing in the effective, short-term treatment of individual, marital and family problems.In his private practice, he also treated a variety of sex offenders and worked with the court system, probation and parole authorities. Before moving to Arkansas in 1995, Lawrence was in private practice in Sarasota, Florida.

Lawrence has studied with the prestigious Albert Ellis Institute of New York City. He has taught graduate level clinical students, and served as adjunct faculty at the University of California, Fresno. In addition to his clinical work, Lawrence provides supervision for other therapists. He is a member of the Clinical Social Work Federation, and the National Association of Social Workers.

He lives near Beaver Lake with his wife and a small menagerie of animals.

 
       
         
         
     

Jan Barclay
M.Ed., L.P.C.


Jan Barclay is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 13 years professional experience in counseling. Her Bachelor’s Degree is from Kansas State University. She earned a Master’s Degree in counseling from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Clients include children, families, adults, adolescents and couples interested in marriage covenant counseling. Jan has experience counseling children and families dealing with grief from loss, divorce, abuse and illness. She treats anxiety and relationship adjustments.

Jan worked in the Rogers and Bentonville Public Schools. She was recognized for assisting families in removing obstacles that prevent students from learning. As a counselor, she worked as a special education designee. Responsibilities included coordinating, leading conferences with parents and teachers, and helping to formulate individual education plans. Jan served as a testing coordinator for standardized tests with experience in test interpretation and consultations with students, teachers, and parents.

Her certifications include Mediation, Active Parenting, Early Prevention of School Failure Evaluation, and Developing Capable People. Jan has extensive training in play therapy, spontaneous drawing techniques, artistic metaphors, and bibliotherapy. She is a member of the Arkansas Mental Health Counselors Association and the Association for Play Therapy.

Jan and her husband Dick have been active in the Rogers community for a number of years. They have three children and four grandchildren.

 
       
         
       
       

Pam Tannehill
M.S.W., L.C.S.W.


Pam Tannehill is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with several years experience in the Mental Health field. She graduated from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EGALA).

Pam has worked as a psychiatric social worker at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale and has worked with the chronically mentally ill in an outpatient setting. She is experienced in individual and group psychotherapy and in working with drug and alcohol problems. Pam works with adults with anxiety and family issues, as well as with more chronic illnesses, such as Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia.

 
         
         
       
       

Todd Reiff
L.C.S.W., A.C.S.W.

Todd Reiff received his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. He earned his Master of Science in Social Work degree at the University of Texas at Arlington. He conducted anger management groups for Tarrant County Adult Probation, training and directing Experiential Therapy/ Ropes Course programs for HCA Hospitals, and doing individual and family therapy in private practice.

Starting in 2000 he was a Social Worker at the Northwest Arkansas Pediatric Clinic, specializing in the treatment of ADHD and parenting skills. He has been an adjunct professor for the University of Arkansas Little Rock Social Work Program, teaching Child Behavior and Treatment Classes.

He serves as a minister in his church. He provides non-denominational spiritual based counseling as well.

He has been certified by the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). He does play therapy with children, marital therapy with couples, and individual therapy with adults.

 
       
         
       
       

Martha Gonzalez-Michaeilis
M.S., L.P.C.

Martha Gonzalez-Michaelis is a Licensed Professional Counselor with several years of experience. She began work on her psychology degree in Colombia, South America and finished at Nebraska Wesleyan University. She earned her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Oklahoma State University.

As an intern, Martha worked in pain management. She worked for several years in a community mental health agency in Texas, and then entered private practice.

Durante sus años de experiencia ha trabajado con una gran variedad de problemas de salud mental como también prevención y tratamiento de abuso infantil, duelo, trauma y desordenes de ajuste.

Terrie Barton
M.S., L.A.C., R.P.T.

Terrie Barton is a Licensed Associate Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1990, while attending Louisiana Tech University, in Ruston, Louisiana. In 2008, she received her Master’s of Science degree in Community Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from John Brown University, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She received her academic training and supervision for play therapy at KC Play in Olathe, Kansas studying under educators who are nationally known for their contribution to the field of play therapy.

Terrie has worked with the severely mentally ill during her internship at Ozark Guidance as well as worked in an inpatient facility in Oklahoma. She also has experience working with children as young as the age of 3, adolescences, adults, and families at a local community mental health agency. Relational counseling services are also available to couples striving to make improvements in their relationships.

She is a member of Association of Play Therapist and the NWA Chapter of Arkansas Mental Health Counselors Association.

She has lived in Northwest Arkansas for over 20 years and has one daughter and one son.

 

 

       
         
         
     

Mary Jane Sonntag
Psy. D., DABPS


Dr. Sonntag is a Clinical Psychologist who practiced at the Center for Stress Reduction in Rogers from 1995-2011. She treats children, teens, and adults, as well as couples and families.

Dr. Sonntag attended North Texas State University for her undergraduate and Master of Arts Degree in Psychology. She was a member of Psi Chi, a national honor fraternity for psychology students. She earned her Psychology Doctorate at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida in 1985.

She completed an internship at the University of Virginia’s Behavioral Health Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. There, she received advanced training at the Child and Family Clinic, the Family Stress Clinic, the Adult Services Unit, and the Behavioral Medicine Clinic.

Dr. Sonntag is a Diplomate in the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute. She also received Level II certification in EMDR, which is a treatment for trauma victims.

 
       
         
       
       

Patricia Heck
Ed. D., LPC, MFT

Patricia Heck has worked in private practice, hospital and psychiatric settings for more than 20 years counseling individuals, couples and families. She received her Counseling Doctorate from Oklahoma State University in 1986 and was licensed in Oklahoma, Missouri, Michigan, and Iowa prior to licensure in Arkansas. Currently, she holds dual licenses in Arkansas.

She is a licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is also an Arkansas Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapy that helps a person see disturbing material in a new and less stressful way. EMDR has been shown to be particularly effective in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Dr. Heck offers a free session for veterans returning from deployment.

Dr. Heck is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and a member of the American/Arkansas Mental Health Counselors Association. She is a provider for several Employment Assistance Programs, as well as an in-network provider for several insurance companies. Her counseling practice includes individuals, couples and families.

Dr. Heck treats mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and abuse issues, grief and loss, addiction and recovery, pre-marital, couples and marital counseling, family counseling, divorce recovery counseling, work and career issues, gender issues and stress management. She enjoys working with pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults.

 
       
         
         
       

Stephany Hall
Office Manager


Our office manager is Stephany Hall. Before joining the Wellspring staff, she managed a physician’s office in Rogers. For the past several years, her management skills have been specifically focused on the special issues involved in mental health.

In addition to her more visible responsibilities, such as keeping the telephones answered, filing your insurance claims quickly and checking clients in and out, she contributes to the sense of "family" you feel at Wellspring. Stephany can help you with insurance issues or other financial questions.

She is a graduate of Rogers High School and is a lifetime resident of Arkansas.

She lives in the country with her husband and son.
